Artist Sarah Pickthall visits Beijing

Funded as an artist by Arts Council England South East, the opportunity allowed her to look more closely at the largest disability event in the world for its approach to accessible spaces and creative solutions to inform our thinking as we move towards 2012. Her blog captures the flavour and feel of this very particular staging, where thousands of disabled people took to the turf and tracks; capturing conversations with former Paralympians about the painted green lawns in Atlanta and the extraordinary lengths to which athletes will go to play the game.
